Our resident gamer Daisy Davidson is on a mission to find the weirdest video game tie-ins ever… this time it’s Kriss Kross’ Make My Video! #saywhat

Hey! My Name’s Daisy. I’m a Scorpio, I have black hair and blue eyes, I like the colour pink and I want world peace ^__^ *jokes* I like everything #GAMEY – not jus your ol’ COD ( Call Of Duty! Duh!) but also the chewy leftover chips (cod, chips… eh eh?) of gaming history. Here I’ll be looking at some of the weirdest video game tie-ins to hit some of the best (and, er, not-so-best) early games consoles, starting with the coolest  guy ever…

Kriss Kross – Make My Video

The best game EVER (nearly), made even better by the fact it was made for the ill-fated  SEGA CD console (ill-fated in that it was so crap it nearly bankrupted SEGA’s whole company).

There are two excellent reasons why Make My Video is sooo good:

a) The main aim of the game is that people listening to the radio (r a d I o…) phone the presenter to ask for strange specific things they want to watch - watch - to which they then ‘spooookily’ tell you what was wrong with said video. HOW CAN THEY SEE IT?! HOW?! (Bearing in mind this was made in the late ’90s, so there was def no radio/TV/Internet link up thing going on!)

b) IT’S GOT KRISS KROSS IN *WOOP*

With the help of Kriss Kross, you get to cut n’ paste lots of really low quality stock videos they must have got on the cheap, and put them into ‘your own video’. So you can make yourself a pretty awesome video of an ancient Z list film, a parrot, and some random guy playing basketball!
